For dosage and administration, refer to the table below.
Animal Dosage
Dogs For IV and SC use. The dose rate is 4.0 mg/kg (1 mL/12.5 kg) bodyweight. Wagg & Purr® Carprofen Injection is best given pre-operatively, either at the time of premedication or induction of anaesthesia.
Cats For IV and SC use as a single dose. The dose rate is 4.0 mg/kg (0.24 mL/3 kg) bodyweight. Wagg & Purr Carprofen Injection is best given pre-operatively, either at the time of pre-medication or induction of anaesthesia. Due to the longer half-life in cats and narrower therapeutic index, particular care should be taken not to exceed the recommended dose and the use of a 1 mL graduated syringe is recommended to measure the dose accurately.
Horses For IV use only. The dose rate is 0.7 mg/kg (1 mL/70 kg) bodyweight. It should be given by IV injection as a single dose. The dose may be repeated after 24 hours and then given daily for a total treatment period of up to 5 days. A clinical reevaluation should be conducted before continuing treatment beyond 5 days.
